- Folding both hands in the logo symbolise Yoga, the union, which reflects the union of individual consciousness with that of universal consciousness, a perfect harmony between mind & body, man & nature; a holistic approach to health & well being.
- The brown leaves symbolise the Earth element, the green leaves symbolise the Nature, blue symbolises the water element, brightness symbolises the Fire element and the Sun symbolise the source of energy and inspiration.
- The logo reflects harmony and peace for humanity, which is the essence of Yoga.
Heeding the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to embrace Yoga as a way of life, the NCC is making a spirited bid to create a new world record for the largest participation by a single organisation in observing the International Day of Yoga on June 21, after roping in approximately 13 lakh cadets across the country to simultaneously take part in the event.
Cadets belonging to 1 [TN] Bn NCC, under the aegis of Group Head Quarters, Madras Group ‘A’ have demonstrated the NCC Motto “Unity & Discipline” in style and elan thereby adding another feather in the cap of the largest uniformed youth organisation in the world, the National Cadet Corps. A total of 2120 Senior and Junior divisiion cadets gathered at Pachiyappa’s College, Chennai and demonstrated their learned skills of Yoga on 21st June between 7 – 7.35 am.
The participants for this record breaking International event are cadets of 28 different schools and colleges from in and around Chennai. The cadets were trained by Yoga instructors from Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai for the past two months.
