SPRINT 2016 Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Sports Academy sprints its way to yet another milestone. On the momentous occasion of our founder Dean & Director, Dr.(Mrs.)Y.G.Parthasarathy’s 90th birth anniversary, Padma Seshadri Group of Schools hosted SPRINT 2015, a mega Junior Athletic Meet (JAM) for Under-14 students.

From a humble beginning in 1958, the PSBB Group of Schools has grown in strength by the sheer dedication and assiduous efforts of Dr. (Mrs.) Y.G.Parthasarathy.

The school holds a reputation non-pareil for nurturing young athletes to imbibe team spirit. Each student participant plays the sport adhering to the principles of ‘AIR’ (Accountability, Integrity and Responsibility)

The PSBB Sports Academy hosted SPRINT 2015 on 9th and 10th March 2015 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Periamet, Chennai in which 19 schools spanning across Tamil Nadu and Bangalore, comprising 460 athletes participated. SPRINT 2015 was a springboard for budding athletes to blossom.

This initiative steps into its second year….SPRINT 2016, and the highlight is the Under-16 category. The dates scheduled for the event are 22nd and 23rd January 2016.

About PSBB Sports Academy

PSBB Sports Academy, a Golden Jubilee initiative, focuses on enhancing the sporting talent of students. A number of inter-school competitions are conducted by the Academy.

The Academy has ushered in Edusports, a professional team with an innovative approach to develop gross motor skills and neuro- muscular coordination. This has been adopted in the primary and middle schools.

The Academy identifies and nurtures talent in sports. The National and International sports stars among our Alumni bear testimony to the concerted effort taken by the school and parents in the holistic development of our students.

Aims and Objectives of Sprint 2016

Inter school athletic meet:

• To encourage participation in sports and uphold the culture of athletics.

• To raise the general standards of athletics and provide a platform for the upcoming athletes to showcase their abilities.

• To focus on instilling values through sports among students

• To encourage sportsmanship and promote camaraderie among the schools

Let us remember that sports imbibes the value of accepting success and failure in the same stride. PSBB Group of Schools invites you to participate in SPRINT 2016 and help in making it a grand success
