Teachers’ Day celebrations were conducted all over the country.
The main idea of Teachers’ Day is to honour teachers for their sincere efforts to impart knowledge to their students. These celebrations convey the message that we care for our teachers. It is teachers who undertake the responsibility of educating children academically as well as morally.
In Sanskrit, worshipping teachers is Acharya vandanam. On this special day of Acharya Vandanam, programmes were arranged by IMCT to offer salutations to teachers. Students of M.P. Ananth Matriculation School and Malathi Matriculation school attended the programme organised by IMCT in their respective schools at Mylapore.
Students earnestly recited slokams in praise of the guru. Students read out life history and services of Dr. Sri. Radhakrishnan, former President of India, one of the outstanding teachers and philosophers in whose name the Teachers Day is celebrated.
