We just planned to bowl stump-to-stump and I stuck to it. I was happy that we stuck to the plan and got a positive result. They (Warriors) also bowled very well but we planned our bowling according to their batting.
Any plans for a breakthrough at the age of thirty two?
Age is not a matter as long as you are fit. I’m constantly working on my fitness and bowling.
What is the mood in the dressing room?
A win or loss is secondary but then we are always in a good mood!
How does it feel performing in front of a large crowd?
It is nice! It is heartening to see that fans are turning up in huge numbers at all the venues.
Which is your current team in league cricket?
I play for CH Robinson which is in TNCA’s second division. My goal is to try and promote them to the first division.
How is it playing under Hemang Badani?
I have played under Hemang’s captaincy earlier as a player. It’s very easy to communicate with him.
Given that you are a senior bowler, what tips do you share with the youngsters?
While practicing in the nets if the juniors come and ask me for any help I oblige. We also discuss in advance as to how to bowl in various match situations.
What are your thoughts on your next opponents?
All the opponents are the same. We just take it match-by-match.
How does it feel to be part of the Chepauk Super Gillies?
I’m very happy to play for such a great team in the tournament!
